FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State men's basketball will host Fort Valley State on Thursday, Dec. 15 and Albany State on Saturday, Thursday Dec. 17. Inside the William Exum Center.  
 
Scouting the Wildcats
The Wildcats are hot, on a five-game winning streak, and undefeated (4-0) in SIAC play. In their last conference matchup, they met Lane College and won 80-74 in overtime. 
 
Fort Valley State is led by Sophomore K.J. Doucet, who averages 15.80 points and 5.10 rebounds per game. Another player to keep an eye on is sophomore Myson Lowe, who averages 11.4 points per game.
 
Scouting the Golden Rams
Albany State has begun the season 2-9 and 2-2 in SIAC play. They will be looking to break their three-game losing streak at Central State on Dec. 15. On the road against SIAC opponents, the Golden Rams are 2-0 as they defeat Spring Hill 72-70 and Tuskegee 72-67. 
 
Junior Maurice Dickson leads the Golden Rams with 11.64 points per game and 5.64 points and rebounds per game.
 
From the Stable 
Kentucky State is currently on a three-game winning streak that pushes them to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in SIAC play. In their first SIAC road trip, they defeated Allen 82-60 and Benedict 90-87. 
 
Five Thorobreds are scoring in double digits regularly this season, Jay Murrell (17.40), Jalon Andrews (14.80), Kong Kong (14.60), Montrell Jacobs (13.20), and Elijah Lockhart (10). Andrews leads Kentucky State with two double-doubles, and his teammate Murrell has one. 
 
Three Thorobreds were named to the 2022-23 HBCU All-Stars Watch List, Kong, Andrews, and Jacobs.
 
Eastern Kentucky Toy Drive
Spectators are encouraged to bring a new toy for a Christmas Toy Drive for children impacted by floods in Eastern Kentucky.
