MOREHEAD, Ky. – Kentucky State men's basketball falls 114-49 to Division I opponent Morehead State in an exhibition contest Tuesday night.
Jay Murrell scored the contest's first points at 19:44 in the first half on a three-point shot assisted by Montrell Jacobs. The Thorobreds held a three-point 5-2 lead early in the first half (18:29).
Jacobs brought Kentucky State to within one on a wide-open three-pointer assisted by Murrell to close on the 15-14 Morehead State lead at 13:28 in the first half.
The Eagles went on a 15-3 run midway through the first half (8:43) to extend their lead to 32-18.
Morehead State led 49-26 at the end of the first half. The Thorobreds were led by Jacobs, who tallied nine points at the half. Jalon Andrews led Kentucky State with six rebounds.
At the return of the half, Morehead State went on a lengthy run to maintain their lead and win the game 114-49.
Jacobs led Kentucky State with 17 points. Andrews nearly hit a double-double of 11 rebounds and eight points.
