Kentucky State Football Falls 28-7 to Tuskegee

FRANKFORT, Ky. –  Kentucky State football falls 28-7 to SIAC West Division opponent Tuskegee on Saturday inside Alumni Stadium.  
 
The Thorobreds led the contest with 171 rushing yards, led by 90 from Shaquan Oliver, who had a long of 58 on a rushing touchdown.
 
Kentucky State's defense led the contest with five sacks for a loss of 33 yards and assisted with the team's 11 tackles for a loss of 47 yards. A pair of Thorobreds hit double digits in tackles, Darrel Dorris Jr. led both teams with 13, and Jeremiah Owens tallied ten.
 
How It Happened
After 17 plays and 93 yards, Donte Edwards of Tuskegee would score on a 12-yard to lead the contest 7-0 in the second quarter (7:17).
 
Tuskegee's Bryon Williams connected with Antonio Meeks for a 78-yard touchdown to extend the Golden Tigers lead 14-0 in the third quarter (11:05).
 
Oliver responded with a lengthy 58-yard rushing touchdown to close on the 14-7 Tuskegee lead at 8:53 in the third quarter.
 
Early in the fourth quarter (13:51), Williams completed a 52-yard pass to Meeks to extend the Golden Tiger lead to 21-7.
 
The final points came from a 19-yard rushing touchdown by Tuskegee's Taurean Taylor secured a 28-7 Tuskegee victory.
