FRANKFORT, Ky. -Â After three consecutive set wins, Kentucky State women's volleyball defeated rival Central State in a sweep to end the regular season 12-7 (.632) in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.

Five seniors led the opening rotation, Miana Wallace, Shaska Davis, Amaya Johnson, Mesi Willson, and Gyanella Vega-Ortega. The first was close, with the score tying twice and the lead changing five times. Kentucky State pulled away in the end to win the set 25-19 and lead the match 1-0.

Setter Audi Hicks tallied 14 assists, out-earning the six of Central State in the second set. This, combined with 12 kills from Davis (4), Wallace (4), and Johnson (4), led to a 25-16 set win and a match lead of 2-0.

The Thorobreds secured the victory and the sweep after a dominating 25-13 third-set win that solidified the 3-0 sweep of the Central State Marauders.

Match Leaders
Johnson not only led her team, but she led the match with 16 digs, ten kills, and five aces. Hicks led her team and the match with 30 assists and tallying three aces. Both Wallace and Willson led their team with four blocks.
