MEMPHIS – Kentucky State women's volleyball swept the Miles Golden Bears 3-0 and dropped three sets to the Spring Hill College Badgers.

In the opening set, the Thorobreds outscored the Golden Bears 25-16, taking a 1-0 match advantage.
For both teams, the second set was close as the score tied seven times, and the lead changed twice. Kentucky State went on to win the second set 27-25.
The momentum continued for Kentucky State in the third set with a 25-17 win that secured a 3-0 sweep.
Statistically, the Thorobreds dominated the match earning 13 aces, led by
Audi Hicks (5) and
Shaska Davis (4). Hicks continued her strong performance earning 33 of the team's 25 assists. Kentucky State tallied 40 kills as a whole.
Amaya Johnson led the match with ten. Her teammates Miah Colbert added nine alongside Davis with seven.
Kentucky State 0, Spring Hill College 3
After an opening 25-14 set loss, the Thorobreds challenged the Badgers in the second and fell just short 25-22. The match ended with a 25-15 third-set win and a 3-0 Spring Hill victory.
Miana Wallace led the match with five blocks, and the Thorobreds led the match with 8 team blocks.

Kentucky State will open the second day of the SIAC West Cluster II to Tuskegee at 9 a.m. and close out the weekend to host LeMoyne Owens at 11 a.m.
