Thorobreds Stampede Past the Dragons

FRANKFORT, Ky.  – In the final moments of the second half, Quarrion Gadson would push Kentucky State to a 71-70 victory on a made basket from the free-throw line Monday evening inside the Exum Center.
 
Lane College's Maximillion Bell led both teams in the first half with 15 points, while the Thorobreds bench outscored the Dragons bench 14-5. At the end of the first half, the Thorobreds trailed the 31-41.
 
As a team, the Thorobreds came together, outscoring the Lane bench 19-0, capitalizing from turnovers with 16 points, and controlling the paint 16-14. Montrell Jacobs led Kentucky State with 13 points to assist with his team outscoring the Dragons 40-29 to win the game 71-70.

Jacobs continued to show his importance on offense leading Kentucky State with 21 points, and he also led the Thorobreds with six steals. Two Thorobreds would join Jacobs by scoring in the double digits, with Shamon Mosley scoring ten and Gadson scoring 15.

Kentucky State will travel to rival Central State on Thursday, January 27th, as they tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
