The Kentucky State Football team defeated the Benedict College Tigers 34-28 at the 2021 Circle City Classic.
Quickly in the first quarter, the Thorobreds put seven on the board with a five-yard run from
Christopher Coneway. The Tigers would return late in the first with a touchdown, and
Brett Sylve would respond with a touchdown to extend the Thorobreds to 14-7 at the end of the first quarter.
In the early portion of the second quarter,
Gerardo Baeza would kick a field goal. The Tigers would score three touchdowns to take a 28-17 lead at the half.
Shaquan Oliver would earn a rushing touchdown in the third quarter to close on the 28-24 Benedict lead.
The Thorobreds would excel past the Tigers in the fourth quarter with a five-yard run by Sylve, and Baeza would secure the win with a 34-yard field goal. Kentucky State would take a 34-28 win at the 2021 Circle City Classic.
The spectacular halftime performance of the Kentucky State University Mighty Marching Thorobred Band would award them 2021 Circle City Classic Battle of the Bands Champions.
