FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State Football dropped their home Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) contest 21-17 on Saturday at Alumni Stadium.
In just 39 seconds and two plays, the Thorobreds would take a 7-0 lead on a three-yard run by
Brett Sylve with 11:13 in the first quarter. The Tigers would add two touchdowns late in the first quarter to take a 14-7 lead.
Early in the second quarter, the Tigers would put seven on the board. In the middle of the second quarter,
Gerardo Baeza would hit a 20-yard field goal to close on the Tigers 21-10 lead going into halftime.
A 54-yard rushing touchdown by
Shaquan Oliver early in the fourth quarter would close on the Tigers lead. The Thorobreds would fall to the Tigers 21-17.

- Kentucky State would dominate the stat sheet with 392 total offensive yards. (323 rushing / 69 passing)
- Kentucky State held the Tigers to just 212 total offensive yards. (141 rushing / 71 passing)
- Sylve would lead the Thorobreds in rushing with 91 yards that would secure him one touchdown.
- Oliver's 54 yard run would be the Thorobreds longest of the day, that run would obtain him a rushing touchdown.
- Artest Banks would control the defensive side with two forced fumbles, two tackles for a loss of 19 yards, one sack and one pass breakup.
- Darrel Dorris Jr. and Tyler Wilder led their team with six total tackles each. Dorris Jr. would have 4.5 tackles for a loss of 15 yards and Wilder would have one tackle for a loss of eight yards.
