SALEM, W. Va. – The Kentucky State University softball team dropped the first game 0-5 and the second 7-11 in Tuesday's doubleheader at Salem University at HOPE Field.
The Thorobreds played strong defensively by keeping the Tigers scoreless in the first three innings of game one.
A fourth-inning surge allowed the Tigers to take a 5-0 lead and defeat the Thorobreds 5-0 at the end of game one.
The Thorobreds outscored the Tigers early by scoring one run in the first inning, followed by three in the second and two in the third to take a 6-4 lead after three.
The Tigers responded by scoring four runs and taking an 8-6 lead over the Thorobreds at the Bottom of the Fourth.
With a consistent performance by the Tigers, the Thorobreds would drop the final game of the doubleheader 7-11.

The Kentucky State University softball team will meet Walsh Monday, April 5th, for a doubleheader contest beginning at 1 p.m. and the final game to follow at 3 p.m. from State Stadium in downtown Frankfort, Kentucky.
