FRANKFORT, KY – The Kentucky State University baseball closed out the first doubleheader series 1-1, with a first game 6-16 loss and a second game 3-1 win against the Tuskegee Golden Tigers at Alumni Field in Frankfort, Kentucky.
The Thorobreds scored five runs early at the bottom of the second inning of the first contest.
Going into the top of the fourth, the Golden Tigers secured nine runs to take a four-run lead and followed in the fifth inning with two additional runs.
Tuskegee closed out the seventh inning with the addition of five runs. The Thorobreds would finish the inning with one run and would drop the first contest 16-6.
After the tough loss, the Thorobreds opened the first inning of the second doubleheader with three runs.
The Thorobreds only gave up one run in the fifth inning and would win the second contest by 3-1.
The doubleheader series will close out Sunday, March 20th, at Alumni Field in Frankfort, Kentucky.
