JACKSON, Tenn. – The Kentucky State baseball team fell to the Lane Dragons 18-3 and 5-3 in the first doubleheader of the weekend from the Ballpark at Jackson in Jackson, Tennessee.
GAME ONE
The Thorobreds were defeated 18-3 by the Lane Dragons in game one of Saturday's doubleheader at the Ballpark at Jackson.
It was a tough defensive day for the Thorobreds. They allowed 11 hits and 18 runs while earning five errors.
At the Top of the Seventh, the Thorobreds found success with Graduate Student Kevin Givhan putting the first run on the board from a double by Sophomore
Antonio Chambers. Chambers and Senior
Roby Schank scored the final runs for the Thorobreds in the first doubleheader against the Dragons.
GAME TWO
To close out day one of the doubleheader series, the Thorobreds fell 5-3 to the Lane Dragons.
The Thorobreds took a 3-0 lead early, with Sophomore
Brennon Williams line drive to center field that allowed Junior
Ethan Johnson and Junior
Jace Wilson to score and take a 2-0 lead. Williams was sent home off of Senior
Jared Pierce's ground ball to left field, securing a 3-0 Kentucky State lead at the Top of the First.
UP NEXT
The Thorobreds will close out the doubleheader at Lane, Sunday, March 14, with the first contest scheduled to begin at noon CT and the final game at 3 p.m. CT from the Ballpark at Jackson in Jackson, Tennessee.
