Football Terminates the Edward Waters University Tigers

JACKSONVILLE, Fl. – Kentucky State University Football defeats Edward Waters University 76-36 Saturday afternoon from the Nathaniel Glover Community Field & Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.
 
In the Thorobreds first possession, Brett Sylve rushed into the endzone on a four-yard run, and a good kick by Gerardo Baeza put a quick seven on the scoreboard. Isaiah Jackson would have a substantial 46-yard run that would extend the Kentucky State lead 14-0 with 5:34 left in the first quarter. Late in the first quarter, Sylve would secure his second rushing touchdown of the day, but the Tigers would block and return the extra point. At the end of the first quarter, Kentucky State would lead Edward Waters 20-2.
 
The second quarter opened on a 26-yard touchdown run by Shaquan Oliver that would increase the Thorobreds lead 27-2 with 9:52 left in the second quarter. Late in the second, the Tigers would add seven on a short rush. The second quarter would close out on a massive 54 yard run into the endzone by Jackson to secure a Kentucky State 34-9 lead going into the half.
 
Edward Waters would respond early in the third quarter to close on the Kentucky State lead 34-16. Otis Odom would respond with a 76 yard run into the endzone to extend the Thorobred lead to 41-16 with 9:26 left in the third quarter. In an attempt to close on the Kentucky State lead, Edward Waters would score midway in the third to shorten their gap 41-23. With 6:20 left in the third quarter, Christopher Coneway would rush into the endzone and extend the Kentucky State lead 48-23. Jonathan Jerry would complete a 27-yard pass to Jordan Level to increase the Thorobred lead to 55-23. Edward Waters would close out the quarter, adding six but would trail Kentucky State 55-29 at the end of the third quarter.
 
At the fourth quarter's opening, Kendon Walker would rush into endzone the increasing the Kentucky State lead to 62-29. The Tigers would score their final seven in the fourth to finish the game with 36 points. Coneway would take the ball into the endzone on a short rush to add to the 69-36 Kentucky State lead. Regulation play would end on a nine-yard rush by Oliver to seal a 76-36 Kentucky State Football win.
