COLUMBIA, SC – The Kentucky State men's basketball teams slow start leads to a 71-101 loss to their in conference opponent Benedict College.
The Thorobreds first points came early, with Junior
Montrell Jacobs making a three allowing the Thorobreds to lead the Benedict Tigers 3-2 early.
Junior
Ifeoluwa Shoyoye led his team by scoring seven points and earning nine rebounds at the end of the first half.
The second half was led by Jacobs, who scored 11 points, and his teammate Junior
Elijiah Lockhart scored 10 points.
Shoyoye earned six offensive rebounds and seven defensive rebounds to lead his team with 13 rebounds. Jacobs led the Thorobreds in scoring with 14 points, with his teammates close by Lockhart scored 13, and Junior
Jay McMiller scored 12 points.
The Thorobreds would end up dropping 71-101 to the Benedict Tigers.

The Thorobreds will stay in Columbia, SC, for the final game of their road trip as they take on the undefeated Allen Yellow Jackets this Sunday, January 31st, with tip-off scheduled for 3 p.m.
