ROCK HILL, S.C. – Three Kentucky State University women's basketball players scored in double figures, but the Thorobreds had their season come to an end with the 63-52 loss to Central State in the opening round of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference postseason tournament.
Kentucky State finished the season 8-18.
TURNING POINT
Central State scored 14 of the final 18 points of the third quarter to push the Marauder lead to a game-high nine points. The game-changing spurt came on the heels of senior
Victoria Blankenship (Fayetteville, N.C.) giving Kentucky State the 35-34 lead.
INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
Senior
Carnethia Brown (Louisville, Ky.) finished with 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting. She scored 10 of her team-high 15 points in the first quarter. Sophomore
Deja Antoine (Tamarac, Fla.) added a career-high 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting with five rebounds.
Blankenship finished with her fourth double-double of the season with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Senior
Amani Williams (Scotch Plains, N.J.) dished out a team-high three assists.

"It's a tough loss," said Kentucky State University Associate Head Coach
Latear Eason. "I'm disappointed in the outcome of the game, but I think my team came out and fought for 40 minutes."

- Seniors Victoria Blankenship, Carnethia Brown and Amani Williams played their final collegiate games.
- After shooting 5-of-6 in the first quarter, Brown was just 2-of-7 from the field over the final 30 minutes.
- One of the top three-point shooting teams in the SIAC, Kentucky State was just 3-of-13 from downtown in the game.
