GAME PREVIEW: Clark Atlanta (SIAC Tournament)

The Kentucky State University men's basketball team begins the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) tournament 12:15 p.m. Tuesday against Clark Atlanta at the Rock Hill Sports and Entertainment Center.

Clark Atlanta won the lone meeting, 69-92, in Frankfort on January 6.

THAT 70'S SHOW: Kentucky State enters the game fourth in scoring offense with 73.7 points per game. The Thorobreds have reached the 100-point plateau twice this season, both in home games.

Senior Jordan Little leads the Thorobreds' attack with 14.8 points per game – good for 15th in the SIAC. Little also sits seventh in the league in field-goal percentage, converting 53.6 percent of his shots.

FROM DOWNTOWN:  The Thorobreds are second in the league in three-point percentage defense, allowing teams to make just 30.7 percent.

Kentucky State is eighth in three-point percentage, making 31.8 percent, while Clark Atlanta is ninth at 31.3 percent.

Junior guard Kevin Wharton-Price leads the Thorobreds with 58 three-pointers made (2.3 per game) – good for eighth in the SIAC.

GLASS CLEANERS: Seniors Jordan Little and Shaq Athie are amongst the SIAC leaders in rebounding. Athie is third in the SIAC with 8.5 rebounds per game, with the vast majority coming on the defensive end. He is also second in the SIAC in defensive rebounding averaging 6.8 per game. Athie has eclipsed double-digit rebounds eight times this year. He also leads Kentucky State in assists (60) and steals (35).

Little is fifth in the SIAC with 8.0 rebounds per game and is second in the league in offensive rebounding.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS: Clark Atlanta has lost two of the last three games entering the SIAC tournament, but has won five of the last seven.

Senior forward Romaine Thomas, the conference's Defensive Player of the Year, is the only player in the SIAC averaging a double-double. He is scoring 16.4 points and has pulled down a SIAC-high 10.2 boards. He has 14 double-doubles this season and has pulled down double-figure rebounds in nine of the last 10 games. Thomas leads the team with 49 three pointers and 143 free throws.

Senior guard Tyler Singleton is second on the team with 14.7 points and leads the team with 98 assists.
