Two-out magic aids 'Breds

The Kentucky State University baseball team scored nine of their 10 runs with two outs as the Thorobreds claimed their home opener with a 10-7 non-conference victory over Cedarville at Alumni Field.

KSU took the lead with four runs in the second, extended its lead to 6-2 in the third and added five runs in the fourth. A single run in the sixth inning capped the Kentucky State scoring.

Kentucky State (6-2) resumes its four-game weekend homestand 2 p.m. Saturday, hosting Salem University.

THE MOMENT THAT MATTERED
After falling behind 0-2, sophomore Jace Wilson (Shepherdsville, Ky.) had an 11-pitch at-bat to drive home a pair of two-out runs in the bottom of the third inning that pushed the KSU lead to 6-2. Cedarville had trimmed the margin to 4-2 with a pair of runs in the top half of the inning. Wilson finished 2-for-4 with a team-high three RBI.
