Senior guard
Carnethia Brown scored 12 of her game-high 20 points in the pivotal third quarter as the Kentucky State University women's basketball team recorded the 60-43 victory over Spring Hill Monday in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action at the William Exum Center.

Kentucky State (7-14 overall, 4-10 SIAC) hosts LeMoyne-Owen College 1 p.m. Saturday.

TURNING POINT
Three straight three pointers by Brown (Louisville, Ky.) late in the third quarter pushed the Kentucky State lead from 16 points to 23. The Thorobreds owned the third quarter, outscoring Spring Hill, 22-4.
INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
In addition to her game-high 20 points, Brown added six rebounds, four assists and four steals to lead Kentucky State. It marks the third time this season the senior guard scored at least 20 points. She has reached double figures in five straight games.

Erica Jones (South Haven, Miss.) recorded her third double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Senior guard
Amani Williams (Scotch Plains, N.J.) finished with 11 points and two assists.

Latear Eason. "Everybody, one through eight, showed up and stepped their game up."
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Carnethia Brown hit all four of her three pointers in the crucial third quarter. She was 4-of-5 from the floor for 12 points.
- Kentucky State held the Badgers to 2-of-14 shooting (14.3 percent) in the third quarter. The Thorobreds also forced five turnovers in the quarter.
- While 10 Spring Hill players scored, none of them scored more than seven points.
- KSU got back to its dominance on the glass, outrebounding Spring Hill, 47-32. It led to a 9-2 advantage in second-chance points.
- Every Kentucky State player pulled down a rebound and six of the eight players recorded an assist.
