MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Five players scored in double figures as the Kentucky State University men's basketball team snapped their two-game losing streak with a resounding 96-83 victory over LeMoyne-Owen Monday in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action.
Kentucky State improves to 8-10 overall, 5-6 in the SIAC, while LeMoyne-Owen falls to 9-6 overall, 6-4 in the SIAC.
TURNING POINT
Junior
Bradlee Lewis was fouled on a dunk attempt and it sparked the game-deciding run. Kentucky State was down one with 7:37 remaining in the game when Lewis went to the line, splitting a pair. The Thorobreds went on a 21-5 spurt to open up a 15-point lead with 59 seconds left.
INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
Senior guard
Grant Goode (Matawan, N.J.) reached double figures for the fifth time in the last six games, posting a team-high 18 points. He added five rebounds and four assists in the victory before fouling out.
Senior forward
Jordan Little (Jersey City, N.J.) recorded his ninth double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds. He started the game one of his first five before knocking down his final five shots. Little also finished with two blocks.
Senior
Kevin Wharton-Price (Pittsburgh, Pa.) added 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting, while senior
Shaq Athie (Cincinnati, Ohio) added 14 points and eight rebounds. Lewis chipped in with 11 points.

"After the last game, we were kind of disappointed – not in just losing the game – but how we lost the game," said Kentucky State University head coach
Jamaal Jackson. "I feel we didn't play with the effort we need to play to win so we had to make some changes to the starting lineup. I feel that really sparked us."

After snapping a four-game losing streak in Memphis with a thrilling 91-90 win last season, Kentucky State has now won back-to-back games at Bruce Hall/Johnson Gymnasium.
Kentucky State has scored at least 90 points in three straight, and four of the last five, meetings against LeMoyne-Owen.
The game featured 13 ties and 14 lead changes.
Every KSU player that attempted a shot in the game found their way into the scoring column.

Aaron Howard (Ypsilanti, Mich.) made his first career start as the Thorobreds shuffled their lineup.
