Box Score Sophomore Moana Pinner hit two homeruns and drove in six as the Kentucky State University softball team run ruled Tuskegee, 9-1, Sunday at Lakeview Park in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action.

Back-to-back two-out singles by Pinner (Hilo, HI) and junior Sasha Allen (West Covina, CA) gave KSU the early lead in the bottom of the first, and a three-run homer by Pinner in the second pushed the Thorobreds advantage to 5-0.

Three straight doubles off the bats of freshman Olivia Steward (Salem, IN), freshman Katelyn Hurley (Elizabeth, IN) and sophomore Kailen Olison (Moreno Valley, CA) brought home two more runs for Kentucky State.

Tuskegee got its lone run with back-to-back doubles in the top of the sixth inning, but following a leadoff walk to senior Jittaun Thompson (Pomona, CA), Pinner ended the contest with her second bomb of the day.

Every player got a hit as Kentucky State recorded 14 knocks on the game. Pinner finished the day 3-for-4 with two runs and six RBI. Allen was 2-for-3 with an RBI, freshman Olivia Saylor (Lancaster, KY) was 2-for-3 and senior Natalia Boganegra (Covina, CA) was 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Senior Paola Flores, 5-9, (San Lorenzo, PR) allowed just one runs on six hits with two strikeouts over six innings.

Kentucky State (11-14 overall, 4-4 SIAC) welcomes LeMoyne-Owen for a three-game series, beginning with a doubleheader Saturday. The game will be the program's Strikeout Cancer event.
