It's Rivalry Week in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and the Kentucky State men's basketball team travels to Wilberforce, Ohio 3 p.m. Saturday for a meeting with the Central State Marauders.

THE TEAMS: With four games remaining, Kentucky State University (9-13 overall, 7-7 SIAC) stands in fifth place in the Western Division. However, the Thorobreds are still mathematically alive to climb as high as second in the Division.
Central State (5-19 overall, 3-11 SIAC), after a horrendous start, is playing better as of late. The Marauders are 3-3 in their last six games. They are in a battle for the last spot in the West Division with Spring Hill (3-12 SIAC).
THE COACHES:Â
Jamaal Jackson is in his third season at the helm of his alma mater. Kentucky State has been one of the top scoring teams in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference under Jackson. He came to KSU following a stint at Bluefield State College, where he led them to increased win totals in every season. The same can be said about his tenure at Stillman, where the Tigers improved upon their win totals.
Joseph Price is in his fifth season as the head coach of the Marauders. He has previous head coaching experience from Grambling State University, and served as an assistant coach at numerous Division I institutions, most recently, IUPUI.
THE LAST MEETING: In a fierce return matchup between bordering rivals, Kentucky State University men's basketball dropped the second game of the season series in overtime 97-95 on February 10, 2018 at the Exum Center.
Three Thorobreds finished with double-doubles as
Dorian Jordan concluded with a team-high 23 points and a team-high 10 assists, for his fifth double-double of the year.
Ray Croon followed with 22 points of his own and 10 rebounds while forwardÂ
Michael Stevenson picked up 10 points and 12 rebounds, each collecting their third double-doubles of the season.
THE PLAYERS: Kentucky State boasts two of the top three scorers in the SIAC as seniorÂ
Ditalion Battle leads the conference with 18.5 points. After a slow start, Battle is averaging nearly 22 points in the last 15 games. He has tallied at least 20 points in 11 of the last 14 games. The Cincinnati native leads the 'Breds with 70 assists and is third on the team with 4.9 rebounds. Additionally, he is fifth in the SIAC in assist to turnover margin.
SeniorÂ
Kevin Hayes, who spent most of the season at the top is currently third with 17.3 points. Hayes has scored double figures in all but one game, and reached the 20-point plateau 10 times this season. Senior
Austin Sherrell is averaging 14.3 points per game over the last four games to push his season average to 10.3.
Sophomore Orion Munford is Central State's top scorer with 11.3 points per contest, and has scored in double figures in seven of the last eight games. The outlier coming in a scoreless performance against Wayne State.
Junior Tom Johnson is second in the SIAC, averaging 6.0 assists to guide the CSU offense. He is also second on the team with 6.9 points.
