GAME ONE: ALCORN STATE 15, KENTUCKY STATE 1

Natalia Bocanegra (Covina, CA), who opened the game with a walk.
The Braves took control of the game with a seven-run first inning, sending 13 batters to the plate. Alcorn added four runs in the third inning and another four runs in the fourth inning. Â

Casey Grant (Fort Mitchell, KY) surrendered eight runs on 10 hits with three walks in three innings of action.
GAME TWO: ALCORN STATE 3, KENTUCKY STATE 0
In a pitcher's duel, the Alcorn State Braves scored on back-to-back two-out singles to break a scoreless game in the fourth inning. ASU tacked on an unearned insurance run in the sixth inning.

Paola Flores, 2-4, (San Lorenzo, PR) allowed three runs (two earned) on 11 hits in six innings of work.
Kentucky State (4-7) will have a week off before returning to action with a four-game series against Walsh. KSU hosts the Cavaliers for doubleheaders February 23 and 24.
