FAIRBORN, Ohio – The Kentucky State University women's basketball team got off to a blistering start, but ultimately fell to Division I Wright State 88-40 Wednesday in exhibition action at the Nutter Center.

The Raiders seized control in the second quarter as they used the superior size advantage to batter the offensive glass. Wright State recorded 23 second chance points and points off turnovers in the first half. Kentucky State managed just four points in the second quarter as a one-point deficit to end the first quarter was a 24-point deficit heading into the locker room.

As a team, the Thorobreds shot 26.3 percent (15-of-57) from the field.

Junior Khaliah Herbert (Crete, Ill.) and junior Erica Jones (South Haven, Miss.) finished with eight points each, while senior Jessie Kee (Indianapolis, Ind.) added seven points. Jones and Kee each pulled down six rebounds for the Thorobreds.
