Playing for the ninth time in seven days, and in its second consecutive five-set match, the Kentucky State University volleyball team fell to the University of Charleston, 25-23, 23-25, 13-25, 25-20, 15-12, Wednesday in non-conference action at the William Exum Center.
Charleston scored eight of the last 10 points in the fifth and final set to escape with the victory.
After claiming the first set, Kentucky State dropped the next two before rebounding to force the deciding set.

Robin Poole (Katy, Texas) tallied her first double-double of the season with 15 kills and 10 digs, while senior
Tapanga Moten (New Orleans, La.) finished with 10 kills. It marked the fourth time, all in the last seven game, Moten recorded double-figure kills.

Oyuky Benitez (Laveen, Ariz.) registered a team-high 14 digs and six assists. Junior
Sasha Bills (Mesa, Ariz.) led the team with 22 assists, six digs and four aces. Â Sophomore
Jalyn Barnett (Detroit, Mich.) added 12 assists.
Kentucky State (13-8) gets a much needed break before returning to the courts, October 10 in the second West Division Cluster at Lane College.
