NASHVILLE, TN – The Kentucky State University men's and women's track and field teams competed in the non-scored Ed Temple Invitational, hosted by Tennessee State University.

Throwers Amani Wagner and
Chelsey Ford got the ball rolling for the KSU field athletes.
Wagner, a freshman, is on the cusp of putting her stamp on the track record books. She finished seventh in both the shot put and the weight throw. Her weight throw toss of 13.05 meters left her close to the school record. She had a put of 11.42 meters in the shot.
In the weight throw, Ford had a toss of 12.96 meters to finish eighth, and then finished 10th in the shot put with a distance of 10.91 meters.
On the men's side,
Edward Jones was third overall in the shot put with a toss of 13.95 meters.
Kentucky State returns to action noon Saturday at the Robert H. Johnson Invitational, hosted by Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN.
