@KYSUVB goes 2-1 at West Division cluster

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 WILBERFORCE -  The Kentucky State University volleyball team went 2-1 on the first day of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference West Division Cluster at Central State University Friday.

KSU lost its first game in straight sets to Tuskegee before claiming a pair of straight set wins over Lane and LeMoyne-Owen.

Kentucky State (6-13) rounds out the cluster Saturday, playing Miles at 9 a.m. and Spring Hill at 1 p.m.

TUSKEGEE 3, KENTUCKY STATE 0 (26-24, 25-21, 25-21)
Senior Arlandria Greathouse (Crowley, TX) had a hand in 11 points with five block assists, four kills and two solo blocks in the Thorobreds first match of the day. Her four kills came on 13 attempts with just two errors.

Two other players - sophomore Spenser Parks (Louisville, KY) and sophomore Robin Poole (Katy, TX) - also had four kills for KSU.

Sophomore Gabriella Gracia (Trullia Alto, Puerto Rico) recorded her first double-double of the season with 10 assists and 10 digs. Freshman Alliyah Williams (Sugar Land, TX) finished with a team-high 12 assists.

KENTUCKY STATE 3, LANE 0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-18)
Poole was dominant for Kentucky State as the Thorobreds swept past the Dragons in the second game of the West Division Cluster.

She finished with 14 kills on 22 attempts with just two errors. Poole also added eight digs and one block assists for KSU.

Greathouse and senior Brooke Moore (Bloomfield, MI) both contributed eight kills each on 18 and 17 attempts, respectively. Sophomore Amanda Moore (Caddo Mills, TX) finished with 18 assists, while Gracia contributed 13 assists and three service aces.

In her return to action, sophomore Makayla Martin (Combine, TX) tied the team-high with 11 digs, while Williams also had 11 digs.
As a team, the Thorobreds hit .230 on the match with six service aces.

KENTUCKY STATE 3, LEMOYNE OWEN 0 (25-11, 25-22, 25-23)
Greathouse was the lone Thorobred to record double-digit kills with 13 kills on 24 attempts and five errors, while Poole added seven kills on 22 attempts. Williams continues to be a defensive stalwart, contributing 11 digs with Marti adding nine digs for KSU.

Gracia led the team with 15 assists and Moore chipped in with 11 assists.
