BIRMINGHAM, AL – Sophomore Robin Poole registered her eighth double-double of the season as the Kentucky State University volleyball team opened the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament with a straight set (25-12, 25-18, 25-19) victory over Paine. (Video Replay)

With the win, the Thorobreds improves to 21-20 on the season and will play #1E Albany State 8 p.m. EST.

Poole (Katy, TX) led the team with 11 kills on 17 attempts with two errors and added a team-high 11 digs in the victory. Sophomore Jalynn Roberts (Davenport, IA) finished with eight kills and a team-high four blocks, while senior Brooke Moore (Bloomfield, MI) contributed seven kills.

Sophomores Amanda Moore (Caddo Mills, TX) and Gabriella Gracia (Trullia Alto, Puerto Rico) combined for 35 of the team's 38 assists with 22 and 13, respectively.

Freshman Alliyah Williams (Sugar Land, TX) added eight digs for Kentucky State.
