GAME PREVIEW: Cedarville University

THE TEAMS: Kentucky State fell to 1-2 on the season after losing to Malone Saturday, 82-54, in non-conference action. Three players, led by Kevin Hayes' 16 points, reached double figures in the loss.

Cedarville is 2-2 on the season after falling to Shawnee State, 80-79, Saturday. The Yellow Jackets were picked to finish seventh in the 13-team G-MAC.

THE COACHES: Jamaal Jackson is in his third season at the helm of his alma mater. The Thorobreds are 19-38 under Jackson. Kentucky State has been one of the top scoring teams in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference under Jackson. He came to KSU following a stint at Bluefield State College, where he led them to increased win totals in every season. The same can be said about his tenure at Stillman, where the Tigers improved upon their win totals.

Pat Estepp has been the head coach at Cedarville in the 2008-09 season, and has guided his alma maters to five 20-win seasons and five national tournament appearances.

THE PLAYERS: Senior forward Kevin Hayes is the only Kentucky State University player averaging double figures, scoring 20.3 points per game while shooting 56.8 percent from the field. Senior forward David Jelks is leading the team with 6.3 rebounds, while redshirt junior Felix Wilson has a team-high 11 assists.

Two players – Connor TenHove and Brandon Maughmer – are averaging double figures for the Yellow Jackets. TenHove is leading the team with 17.5 points and is second with 5.8 rebounds, while Maughmer is second on the team with 16.5 points. Grant Zawadski has dished out a team-high 29 assists to go along with 9.5 points per game and 5.8 rebounds.
