Balanced attack leads to straight-set @KYSUVB win

WILBERFORCE - The Kentucky State University volleyball team picked up a straight-set victory, beating Central State Tuesday, 25-10, 25-21, 25-16, in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action at the Beacom-Lewis Gymnasium.

Senior Spenser Parks (Louisville, KY) led a balanced Thorobred attack with nine kills on 18 attempts. Senior Brooke Moore (Bloomfield, MI) finished with eight kills on 12 attempts with just one error, while sophomore Jalynn Roberts (Davenport, IA) contributed seven kills on 11 attempts and one error.

Sophomore Amanda Moore (Caddo Mills, TX) dished out a team-high 21 assists and sophomore Gabriella Gracia (Trullia Alto, Puerto Rico) added 11 assists.
Sophomore Robin Poole (Katy, TX) and freshman Khirra Kenney (Indianapolis, IN) had three service aces each.

Poole had a team-high four digs, while six other players - Gracia, Roberts, Moore, Kenney, freshman Alliyah Williams (Sugar Land, TX) and sophomore Makayla Martin (Combine, TX) - all had three digs for the Thorobreds.

Kentucky State has now won six straight, and nine of the last 10, SIAC matches following the straight-set win. Of the nine conference wins, five have been in straight sets.

The Thorobreds (14-18 overall, 9-2 SIAC) travels to a second West Division cluster this week, traveling to LeMoyne-Owens. KSU plays Tuskegee and Spring Hill Friday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
