@KYSUVB moves into second place

MEMPHIS, TN - The Kentucky State University volleyball team moved into second place of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's West Division by going 4-1 during the second divisional cluster at Lemoyne-Owen this weekend.

Kentucky State can clinched the tournament's second seed with a win over Central State on October 30, or a Tuskegee loss in any of its three remaining SIAC matches.

KENTUCKY STATE 3, TUSKEGEE 0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-22)
The Thorobreds avenged their one of their SIAC losses with a straight set win over Tuskegee Friday, extending their SIAC winning streak to seven matches.

Sophomore Robin Poole (Katy, TX) finished with a team-high seven kills with three errors on 14 attempts, while sophomore Makayla Martin (Combine, TX) tallied six kills with three errors on 15 attempts.

Sophomores Gabriella Gracia (Trullia Alto, Puerto Rico) and Amanda Moore (Caddo Mills, TX) combined for 21 of the team's 27 assists. Freshman Alliyah Williams (Sugar Land, TX) dished out a team-high 11 digs.

SPRING HILL 3, KENTUCKY STATE 0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-22)
With an opportunity to avenge its other conference loss, Kentucky State fell in straight sets Friday to Spring Hill, who remained unbeaten and clinched the West Division's top seed.

Senior Arlandria Greathouse (Crowley, TX) reached double-figure kills for the 11th time this season with a team-high 10 kills on 20 attempts. Poole added eight kills for KSU.

Williams tied a career-high with 21 digs, marking the 26th time she recorded more than 10 digs. Martin also had more than 10 digs, totaling 13 in the win.

Gracia, for the ninth time this season, tallied 20 assists, while Moore finished with 17 assists.

KENTUCKY STATE 3, LEMOYNE-OWEN (25-20, 25-13, 25-20)
Greathouse led the way with 11 kills, the 12th time going over double figures for the 12th time, while Poole added nine and sophomore Jalynn Roberts (Davenport, IA) finished with eight.

Moore tallied at least 20 assists for eighth time this season, finishing with a team-high 21, while Gracia totaled 17 assists.

Williams and Martin each finished with more than 10 digs, tallying 12 and 10 digs, respectively.

KENTUCKY STATE 3, MILES 0 (25-4, 25-11, 25-19)
Freshman Mariah Peachey (Liverpool, OH) returned for her most significant action in nearly a month, and finished with a team-high seven kills as Kentucky State breezed past Miles Saturday.

Martin added six kills with six digs, while senior Brooke Moore (Bloomfield, MI) also tallied six kills.

Williams led the team with eight digs with three other players - Poole, Gracia and freshman Khirra Kinney (Indianapolis, IN) - all recording seven digs.

KENTUCKY STATE 3, LANE 0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-20)
For the third time in the five-match cluster, Greathouse was the offensive leader for the Thorobreds with 11 kills with just one error on 22 attempts.

The sophomore setting duo of Moore and Gracia continues to distribute the offense with 17 and 12 assists, respectively.

Poole had a team-high 11 digs, while Williams finished with eight.

Kentucky State (18-9 overall, 13-3 SIAC) takes 10 days off before returning to the court 6 p.m. October 23 at the University of Charleston.
