CHARLESTON, WV - Sophomore Robin Poole tallied a double-double as the Kentucky State University volleyball team returned to action after a 10-day absence with a 3-1 (13-25, 27-25, 27-25, 25-20) non-conference victory over the University of Charleston Tuesday.

Charleston cruised to an opening set win by scoring 10 of the final 11 points of the set.

Sophomore Jalynn Roberts (Davenport, IA) served the Thorobreds to five straight wins in the beginning parts of the second set, and Kentucky State opened up a set-high four-point lead. Neither team pulled away, but KSU evened the match by scoring six of the last eight points.

The third set was much like the second as the teams went back and forth, and the Thorobreds sealed the set win by scoring five of the last six points.

After scoring nine of 13 points in the middle sections of the fourth, and final, set - Kentucky State held on for the five-point win.

Poole (Katy, TX) finished with her seventh double-double of the season with a team-high 13 kills and 10 digs. The outside hitter was four blocks away from a triple-double, finishing with six block assists.

Senior Arlandria Greathouse (Crowley, TX) also recorded double-figure kills, tallying 10 in the victory. She was also a forced at the net with 11 blocks, three solos and eight block assists.

Sophomore Amanda Moore (Caddo Mills, TX) dished out a season-high 38 assists to guide the offense. Sophomore Makayla Martin (Combine, TX) led the team with 14 digs, while sophomore Aisha Cruz finished with a career-high 13 digs.
