Box Score Frankfort, Ky. – Kentucky State University men's basketball fell to non-conference foe University of Indianapolis 94-83 on Saturday afternoon at the Exum Center.

The Thorobreds (1-3) were led by junior guard Dorian Jordan as he netted a team-high 20 points and dished seven assists. Sophomore guard Chas Harvey added 18 points, hitting four of his eight attempts from behind the arc.

Harvey led the way for the Thorobreds, scoring 13 of his 18 points in the first frame.  KSU trailed for a majority of the first half before taking the lead following a Jordan fastbreak layup with 8:56 remaining in the stanza to give the home team a 24-23 lead, their first lead of the contest. The Thorobreds continued with a 9-2 run over the next 3:20, giving KSU the 33-25 advantage. Despite solid offensive play, KSU was unable to hold onto the lead, as the visiting Greyhounds ended the half on a 14-6 run to tie the game up at 39 apiece going into the locker room.

The second half was tightly contested, as the opening 3:05 of play saw four lead changes with KSU taking a 45-44 lead after Jordan nailed a jumper followed by a Harvey layup to extend the lead to 47-44. The Thorobreds were unable to maintain the lead as the Greyhounds tied the game following a made three-pointer from leading scorer Jesse Kempson. Kempson finished the afternoon with a game-high 29 points.

UIndy reclaimed the advantage at 16:02 after a layup and a made free throw, making the score 50-47.  KSU was able to tie the game on two occasions but were unable to pull ahead in the contest en route to its third loss of the season.

"They hit a couple of threes late in the game," said head coach Jamaal Jackson when asked about the final five minutes of the game. "We were unable to close out defensively and couldn't hit shots on our end."

KSU will play its conference opener Wednesday evening as it travels to Paine College for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip-off.
