BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --Â The Kentucky State men's basketball team is preparing for their quarterfinal round game on Thurs. Mar. 6, against the Albany State Golden Rams at the SIAC Basketball Championship Tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. (CT) at the newly renovatedÂ
Bill Harris Arena.
The two teams met in the Thorobreds first SIAC game of the season back on Jan. 2, in Albany, Georgia where the Golden Rams defeated the Thorobreds, 69-65. In that game, ASU senior forward Jamorris Gaines, who was seventh in the SIAC with 16.4 points per game, finished with 28 points, going 12-for-14 from the floor.
#3W Kentucky State handled #6E Claflin, 76-55, on Tuesday evening to reach the quarterfinal round. #2E Albany State survived a scare from #7E Morehouse, 55-54, in the final game on Tuesday night to advance to face KSU.
