ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced its men and women's Basketball Players of the Week for the 14
th installment of the 2013-14 basketball season.
Kentucky State junior combo guard/forward
Ulysses Thomas III has been named the men's basketball SIAC Co-Player of the Week. Thomas III led the KSU men's basketball team to a 2-1 record in a busy week for the Thorobreds. Thomas III averaged 14.3 points per game while shooting an impressive 50% from the floor and 54% (7-of-13) from beyond the arc.
Forward
Darrien Wilkins had his week's performance noted after averaging 10 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists last week.
Shayla Moore was recognized on the women's side for her stellar week. Moore averaged 15.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, two assist, one steal, and one block as she led the Thorobrettes to a 2-1 record last week. Moore had a career game against Central State in the first game of the week to help KSU sweep the season series. She poured in a game-high 20 points, pulled down 17 rebounds, picked up two steals and two blocks against the Lady Marauders.

SIAC Men's Co-Players of the Week
Lamar Adkins (F, 6-8, 200, Sr., Portsmouth, VA) finished with 26 points, eight rebounds, two assists, one steals and four blocks as Benedict recorded a, 77-74, overtime victory over Clark Atlanta in its lone game of the week.
Ulysses Thomas III (G/F, 190, Jr., Cincinnati, OH) averaged 14.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in two wins last week.
SIAC Women's Player of the Week
Kajuanna Rivers (G, 5-4, Sr., Decatur, GA) averaged 16 points, three rebounds, 4.5 assists and five steals as the Tigerettes won two contests during the week.
SIAC Men's Newcomer of the Week
Toby Veal (F/C, 6-8, 245, Sr., Savannah, GA) averaged 11 points, 9.5 rebounds, one steals and three blocks as Paine secured two wins last week.
SIAC Women's Newcomer of the Week
Jamesha Watkins (G/F, 5-8, Sr., York, AL) tallied 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals in a 57-53 victory over LeMoyne-Owen.

In two games, Taylor averaged 13 points, 3.5 rebounds, seven assists and one steal.
Jarrel Joye, Clark Atlanta University
In one contest, Joye scored 18 points, one rebound, six assists and four steals for the Panthers.
Earl Lawrence, Clark Atlanta University
In one game, Lawrence scored nine points, ten rebounds, one assist, and one steal for the Panthers.
Markeith Madison, Stillman College
Madison recorded 16 points, eight rebounds and two assists as the Tigers earned a victory over LeMoyne-Owen.
