Box Score FRANKFORT, Ky. – Quarterback Josh Straughan threw a go-ahead touchdown pass to receiver Octavian Ford with just 37 seconds left to give the Stillman College Tigers a 26-21 victory over the Kentucky State University Thorobreds in a conference football game on Saturday at Alumni Field.
Straughan completed 19-of-32 passes for 326 yards and four touchdowns on Saturday. Both teams combined for 734 yards of offense on a day that saw two very different offensive game plans. The Thorobreds relied heavily on the run game with junior running back
Jacquise Lockett rushing the ball 22 times for 140 yards and three touchdowns.
The Thorobreds were ahead on the scoreboard for most of the game. Kentucky State struck first when Lockett scored his first touchdown of the game with just over nine minutes left in the second quarter. From there, KSU held the lead until the Straughan to Ford touchdown late in the game.

Adam Robinson had a solid game for the Thorobreds going 17-for 26 with 140 yards on the day. SIAC Preseason First Team running back
Justin Williams rushed 13 times for 60 yards.
Stillman wide receiver Dondre Purnell was the top receiver in the game with seven catches for 154 yards and a touchdown. KSU receiver Clayton Patton had a team high seven catches for 72 yards.
The Thorobreds will look to bounce back when they host non-conference opponent Alderson-Broaddus College on Saturday, Oct. 5
th. The game will be played at Alumni Stadium with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m.
