Cade Berryman Named HSRN Fan Poll National Player of the Week

Hartly, DE – Fan Poll voting was close until the final day when Jackson State and Kentucky State fans made sure the polls were in their favor. JSU's QB Casey Therriault and Kentucky State's PK Cade Berryman are the winners of week-two Fan Poll voting for the HSRN National Player of the Week. Each week during the season, HSRN's staff will select the top performances from all HBCU action and give the fans across the country a chance to vote for the Player of the Week.

In Div. I FCS voting Therriault won with 746 votes, QB McGhee (Howard) finished with 585 votes, DB Dominique Ellis (S.C. State) 404 and WR Darius Jackson (Delaware St.) 14. Div. II voting has Berryman with 627 votes, followed by QB Stanley Jennings (Albany St.) 529, Kameron Smith (Winston Salem St.) 97 and Carlos Ross (Langston) 89.

HSRN developed the fan poll to get all HBCU alumni, students and fans involved with the national process and to also give everyone a chance to consistently keep up with the individual performances around the country.

Div. I-FCS
Casey Therriault – Jackson St. – QB – 6'3, 205 – SR/Wyoming Park, MI
The pre-season All-American completed 27 of 39 passes for 337 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Tigers to a 35-29 win over Tennessee St. Therriault was selected MVP of the Southern Heritage Classic.

Div. II
Cade Berryman – Kentucky St. – PK – 5'9, 150 – FR/Irvine, KY
One week after being named SIAC Special Teams Player of the Week, Berryman shattered last week's performance. Against Lincoln (PA), Berryman nailed three (3) field goals from 26, 43 and 39 yards, connected on four (4) PATs and had nine (9) kickoffs for 450 yards (50.0 avg.). He finished the game with 13 points as the Thorobreds defeated the Lions 43-27.
