Winter Park, FL. - The Thorobrettes of KSU took on the Lady Buccaneers of Barry University in a regular season double header.
KSU's first at bat started with Right Fielder Destiney Finch going out at 1st, Left Fielder Danielle Garay striking out swinging, and Center Fielder Lamara Parker fouling out. The Lady Buccaneers came out looking very aggressive, scoring on two runs from Collins and Goldsmith. KSU could not seem to find a hitting rhythm in this game as they ended the game with 4 hits and 0 runs. Barry University held the upper hand as they scored runs in the 2nd, 5th, and 6th, inning. Barry took the first game of the double header 8-0 over KSU.
The Lady Buccaneers of Barry University took to the plate first to start the second game with an earned run from Goldsmith. KSU failed to produce any hits or runs in the 1st or 2nd inning, while Barry University's Left Fielder Soto earned a run in the 2nd. Goldsmith ended the 3rd inning for Barry with a run following an advance from Dunlap to second. A pop up from Shy brought the Thorobrettes to the plate in the 3rd inning but KSU was unsuccessful at producing a run in the 3rd also. The Thorobrettes and the Lady Buccaneers were scoreless through the 4th inning. In the 5th inning, Goldsmith scored again on a run that was succeeded by a ground out to 2nd and an out at home. KSU managed to pull in two runs from Shortstop Jenna Shingary and Pitch Runner Leticia Estill to cut Barry's lead down to 4-2. Barry produced 5 more runs in the final two innings to advance the score to 9-2 as KSU was unable to provide a run in either of the final two innings.
