Lorman, Miss.-The Thorobrettes of KSU traveled to Alcorn State to battle the Lady Braves in a regular season double header.
KSU started the first at bat of the inning with Right Fielder Destiney Finch singling to 1st base and stealing second . Finch would score a run following 3rd basemen Shenazz Burrell fly out to 3rd base and Kayla Lewis's fly out to Alcorn's shortstop. The 1st inning saw Alcorn State produce 8 runs over the Thorobrettes. In the rest of the game proved to be of equal stature as neither KSU nor Alcorn State could gain the upper hand. The final score was 8-1 as Alcorn State came away victorious.
The second match in the double header between Alcorn State and KSU began with KSU at bat first. Right Fielder Destiney Finch scored a run from 3rd after Left Fielder Jasmine Anderson grounded out to the pitcher. Alcorn State scored on a run in the 1st inning also. In the 2nd inning KSU was held scoreless and unable to produce any hits. Alcorn capitalized and answered back with 3 hits and 3 runs. KSU was unsuccessful again at gaining a run in the 3rd inning, as was Alcorn State. The Thorobrettes managed to produce a run from 3rd basemen Kayla Lewis off Shortstop Jenna Shingary's double in the 4th inning. The KSU and Alcorn State went scoreless through the 5th inning with Alcorn finally breaking the holdout, scoring 4 runs in the 6th inning. The Thorobrettes were able to produce one more run in the 7th inning from Lorena Villamar. The final score was 8-3, ending with an Alcorn State victory.
