Breds Beat Miles at Home

Frankfort, KY – KSU defeats Miles College 58-53 in an exciting game at home.

KSU jumped to a 11-5 lead early in the game behind center Alex Somerville (Indianapolis, IN) with 13:35 on the game clock. KSU produced 19 bench points and Kevin Smith (Detroit, MI) contributed with 7 points of his own to secure a 35-22 lead heading toward halftime. KSU shot 46.9% from the field although shooting 0-5 from three-point land.  

The 2nd half of the game proved to be much like the 1st as the Thorobred's kept their lead alive. Miles College, led by Devyn Morse and Michael Ward, managed to come within one point of a tie with KSU with 10:43 left in the game. KSU's Patrick Dawson (Cincinnati, OH) led the Thorobred's in the 2nd half with 7 points and finished the game with 11 points and 5 rebounds as KSU advanced to victory against Miles. Kevin Smith (Detroit, MI) also contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds.

The Thorobreds finished the game shooting 42.9% from the field.

Rahim Barnes led all Miles College scorers with 10 points.
