Thorobreds Suffer Loss at Central State in Final Non-Conference Game

Wilberforce, OH - The KSU men's basketball program suffered a tough loss, 73-94, on the road to rival Central State.

The first half was typical of a KSU-CSU battle, as the Thorobreds jumped out to an early 6-0 lead on back-to-back three-pointers by Tony Johnson. With 12:18 in the first period, Will Marsh drained a three to put the Breds up by 10.

The Marauders pushed back, tying the game at 17 with 9:15 to play. CSU went up by four, but the Breds tied the game at 24 with 6:44 remaining in the half. KSU took the lead at 29-28 with 3:56 in the first half, but it would be the last time they led.

Central State outscored the Thorobreds 54-38 in the second half despite Johnson and Marsh putting up 28 and 20 points, respectively.

Central State's Phillip Gates led the team with 27 points.
