Steve Wallace serves as offensive coordinator at Kentucky State University.
Wallace helped direct one of the SIAC's top offenses during Kentucky State's historic 2025 season. The Thorobreds averaged 34.3 points, 386.6 total yards and 241.1 passing yards per game while scoring 55 touchdowns.
Kentucky State's offense produced three All-SIAC selections in 2025. Daniel Bostic earned first-team honors after anchoring one of the league's top rushing attacks and allowing zero sacks in conference play. Wide receivers Darius Cyprian and Jon McCall also earned All-SIAC recognition.
The Thorobreds finished 9-3 overall, went 7-1 in SIAC play and earned the program's first NCAA Division II playoff appearance.
Wallace begins his first season at Kentucky State as the youngest offensive coordinator in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC)
Before arriving at Kentucky State, Wallace was named the youngest offensive line coach in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) in February 2023, when he joined the staff at Arkansas–Pine Bluff (UAPB). While with the Golden Lions, he helped engineer the second-largest comeback in program history after taking over play-calling duties.
Prior to UAPB, Wallace served as an offensive line graduate assistant at Auburn University, working under veteran SEC coach Will Friend. During a mid-season coaching transition, Wallace was elevated to offensive line coach when Friend assumed offensive coordinator responsibilities. Auburn went on to finish in the Top 5 nationally (FBS) in rushing yards per game during the final four contests under interim head coach Cadillac Williams.
Wallace’s coaching background spans multiple roles across the South, showcasing his versatility and development on both sides of the ball. His previous stops include:
-
Arkansas Baptist College – Offensive Run Game Coordinator
-
Millsaps College – Defensive Run Game Coordinator / Inside Linebackers Coach
-
Auburn University – Player Personnel Graduate Assistant
