Lavon Meeks serves as assistant football coach at Kentucky State University.

Meeks was part of the Kentucky State staff during the Thorobreds' record-setting 2025 season. Kentucky State finished 9-3 overall, went 7-1 in SIAC play and earned the program's first NCAA Division II playoff appearance.

The Thorobreds tied the school record for wins, set a program record for SIAC victories and placed four student-athletes on the All-SIAC teams. Head coach Felton Huggins Jr. also was named SIAC Coach of the Year.
