FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky State's
Ryan Campbell delivered a historic performance at the plate, blasting four home runs and driving in eight runs to headline a record-setting doubleheader split against Lane.
Campbell fell one home run shy of the single-game record of five, set in 2003, finishing with four in the opener while leading the Thorobreds with eight RBIs.
Kentucky State recorded 26 hits, while Lane finished with 25 in game one, marking the most combined hits in an SIAC game and the second-most in NCAA Division II history.

The opening game of the doubleheader turned into an offensive battle, with Lane outlasting Kentucky State 31-27.
Haruta Endo led all players with five hits, including two doubles and a triple, in seven at-bats. Campbell added five hits — all home runs — while
Harry Major contributed four hits, including a home run.
Eight Thorobreds saw action on the mound.
Brad Dossett took the loss after giving up eight runs in the ninth inning.
Kentucky State posted its best scoring stretch with five runs in both the fourth and fifth innings. Lane's decisive inning came in the ninth, when it scored eight runs to secure the win.
