FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State's fourth-quarter push wasn't enough to overcome a double-digit deficit, as the Thorobreds fell 60-51 to Tuskegee Saturday afternoon inside the William Exum Center.
 
Amina Seck led all players with a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds, adding a career-high nine blocks. Teammate Amyah Adair-Mars went a perfect 5-for-5 at the free-throw line to finish with 10 points.
 
The Thorobreds controlled the first quarter early. A 3-pointer from Adair-Mars gave Kentucky State a 13-7 lead at the 4:00 mark, and the Thorobreds held on to edge the Golden Tigers 13-10 by the end of the period.
 
Tuskegee responded with an eight-point run to take a 17-13 lead with 6:34 left in the second quarter. The Golden Tigers carried that momentum, building a 13-point, 31-18 advantage at the 2:55 mark and taking a 32-20 lead into halftime.
 
Tuskegee extended its lead to 38-22 early in the third quarter, but KSU answered with a 10-point run to cut the deficit to 38-32 with 2:12 remaining.
 
The Thorobreds kept fighting in the fourth, trimming the lead to six points (45-39) on a jumper by Alexis Hayes. Despite shooting 50% from the field in the final period, Kentucky State couldn't close the gap, and Tuskegee secured the 60-51 win.
