BEREA, Ky. – Kentucky State women's volleyball set to open 2025 season at the Berea Mountaineer Classic Sept. 5-6, the Thorobreds will open the classic to Kentucky Christian Friday at 7:00 p.m. in Berea, Kentucky.
 
NATIONAL RECOGNITION, ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE BY THE AVCA
The Thorobreds were one of only two SIAC teams to be awarded the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for earning at least a 3.3 GPA during the 2024-25 school year.
 
RANDI NEAL NAMED TO SIAC PRESEASON ALL-CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM  
Neal earned second-team honors at middle blocker after leading the Thorobreds in her first season with 36 blocks, along with 169 points and 146 kills. She posted a season-high 15 kills and 15.5 points against Miles on Oct. 4, 2024, and tallied seven blocks against Fort Valley State on Sept. 21.
 
KEY RETURNERS
The 2025 roster includes 12 returners from last season's squad. Amber Gregory led the Thorobreds in 2024 with 415 assists and 37 aces, while also earning SIAC Setter of the Week honors. Neal added a strong presence at the net, finishing with a team-high 36 blocks.
