JACKSON, Tenn. – Riding a six-game win streak and ranked No. 6 in Super Region Two, Kentucky State Football heads to Lane on Saturday with postseason hopes on the line as the Thorobreds look to secure a spot in the SIAC Championship Game.

Series at Glance
Saturday's matchup marks the 44th meeting between the two programs, with Kentucky State holding a 29-14 advantage in the all-time series. In their most recent contest on Oct. 5, 2025, the Thorobreds extended their win streak to five games with a 24-20 victory. Three of those five wins have come on the road in Jackson, Tennessee.

A Look at the Dragons
Lane enters Saturday's game winless at 0-9 overall and 0-7 in SIAC play, most recently falling to Tuskegee 18-13 on Nov. 1.

Thorobreds Make History with Sixth Consecutive Win
Kentucky State defeated Clark Atlanta 43-28 on Nov. 1 to improve to 7-2 overall and 6-1 in SIAC play. The victory extended the Thorobreds' win streak to six games — their first since 1977, and just the seventh in program history, marking only the second time since the start of the 1950 season.

SIAC Championship Outlook
Saturday's matchup carries major postseason implications for Kentucky State. The Thorobreds did not face Benedict College during the regular season, meaning second place in the SIAC standings — and a spot in the conference championship game — will be decided by win percentage against common opponents. Entering the weekend, Benedict holds a narrow edge at .469 to Kentucky State's .438. A Benedict victory at Savannah State would secure the No. 2 seed for the Tigers, but a Kentucky State win at Lane combined with a Benedict loss would propel the Thorobreds into the championship game.

Sixth on NCAA DII Football Super Region Two Rankings

The Thorobreds are the only Division II program in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to earn a regional ranking and one of just three SIAC institutions on the list, joining No. 2 Albany State and No. 3 Benedict.
