FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State linebacker Mataye Youman has been named the Black College Sports Page (BCSP) SIAC Defensive Player of the Week following a standout performance in the Thorobreds' 17-14 road win over Franklin Pierce on October 17.
 
Youman led all HBCU defenders last week with 13 tackles, including eight solo stops, a strip sack, and a fumble recovery that helped secure the victory for Kentucky State. His consistent defensive presence has been instrumental in the Thorobreds' success throughout the season.
 
Kentucky State (6-2, 5-1 SIAC) currently sits third in the SIAC standings and has won five straight games, marking the program's longest win streak since 2004.
