WILMORE, Ky. – Despite a third-set victory and a late rally in the fourth, Kentucky State fell to Asbury 3-1 in women's volleyball in their season opener in Wilmore, Kentucky.
A pair of seniors led the Thorobreds on the stat sheet
Amber Gregory co-led the match with 18 assists and
Timaia Sugars led her team with eight kills, one ace and one block. Junior
Jaicee Corcoran tallied 12 digs in the match.
The Eagles claimed the first two sets, 25-17, but the Thorobreds battled back to win the third set, 25-21. Despite trailing significantly in the fourth set, Kentucky State strung together five consecutive points before ultimately falling, 25-12.
