Box Score CHICAGO – Morehouse scored in the final seconds of the fourth quarter to defeat Kentucky State 31-28 at the 26th Annual Chicago Football Classic on Saturday afternoon at Soldier Field.
 
Denim Johnson, who completed 14 of 19 passes for 136 yards and rushed for 109 yards, including a touchdown, was named the Chicago Football Classic Offensive Player of the Game. Tray Blackmon Jr., who made 3.5 tackles and recorded an interception, earned Defensive Player of the Game honors.
 
Kentucky State opened the scoring on a two-yard run by Roscoe Parish Jr., taking a 7-0 lead with 10:18 remaining in the first quarter.
 
Morehouse responded with a touchdown and a two-point conversion to take an 8-7 lead at the 8:34 mark of the first quarter.
 
Johnson's 10-yard touchdown run put Kentucky State back on top, 14-8, with 11:39 remaining in the second quarter.
 
Morehouse regained the lead in the final seconds of the first half with a 25-yard touchdown pass, heading into halftime up 15-14.
 
Near the end of the third quarter, Donovan Journey scored on a 13-yard run to give Kentucky State a 21-15 lead entering the fourth quarter.
 
Morehouse began their comeback with a 33-yard field goal at the 8:40 mark of the fourth. Journey appeared to seal the game for Kentucky State with a 49-yard touchdown run at 3:55, extending the lead to 28-18.
 
However, the Maroon Tigers rallied in the final two minutes, scoring a 22-yard touchdown pass with 1:55 remaining and sealing the game with a 24-yard touchdown pass in the final seconds to secure the 31-28 victory.
