BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Kentucky State baseball fell to Miles 7-5 in game one and 7-1 in game two Saturday afternoon.
Game One – Kentucky State 7, Miles 7
Kentucky State struck first in the opening inning on sacrifice fly from
Collier Higgs to send in
Parker White for the first run of the contest.
Miles added three runs at the bottom of the second to take a 3-1 lead. With the bases loaded at the top of the fifth White was walked to bat in
Jayden Clark.
Treyvon Fletcher was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to send in one run. Clark singled into left field batted in both
Cedric Poellnitz and
Mitchell Collins to tie the game 5-5 through sixth innings.
Miles added one run in both the seventh and eighth to defeat the Thorobreds.
Game Two- Kentucky State 1, Miles 7
The Golden Bears led 4-0 through the first four innings. In the fifth, a sacrifice fly by Poellnitz scored the Thorobreds' lone run. The Golden Bears responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning, sealing a 7-1 qin in the second game.
