JACKSON, Tenn. – Tanisha Valdez hit her sixth home run of the season, contributing to Kentucky State softball's 13-6 victory in the second game of their doubleheader against Lane College.
Neomi Thomas' seventh-inning single drove in a run, yet it was the two second inning runs that sealed a 2-1 victory for the Dragons in the first game of the series.
Kentucky State found their groove in game two racking up 19 hits to defeat Lane 13-6 at split the doubleheader.
Imani Reed led the Thorobreds with five RBIs and her teammate Valdez followed with four.

Aaliyah Yates and
LillieAnn Hollom led the contest with three hits each.
In the fourth inning,
Tayler Floyd's single up the middle drove Reed home, pushing Kentucky State ahead to a 6-5 lead over Lane after four innings.
Valdez found her sixth homer of the season in the sixth inning adding three runs and regaining back a 9-6 lead.
The Thorobreds added four runs in the seventh inning to take game two 13-6.
Softball will complete the series tomorrow (March 22)) at noon in Jackson, Tennessee.
